Abstract

The Business Plan project is the epitome of the overall Entrepreneurship course module. It studies market environment, domestic & global economic forces and financial projection to assess the business profitability. In addition, it also involves, in depth process of value creation and idea generation to generate idea listing and the business innovation process. 

As a working mom, I found that there are challenges in raising children whilst balancing work-life requirements. The scenario is worsen by reported cases of child abuse, negligence and accidents caused by house maid which results parents to send their child to childcare centre. Nevertheless, fatal accidents such as choking still happen in childcare centre. Ironically, the demand of childcare and nurseries keep on increasing despite these cases. 

Realizing the opportunity, challenges and problems, I feel obliged to execute a business plan focusing on Childcare (Nursery) segment. It will address all childcare issues, target market, guidelines and requirement needed to set up a Nursery. 

Moving away from the traditional business entrepreneur thinking method, I wish to be a social entrepreneur whom recognizes social problem and uses entrepreneurial principles to organize, create and manage a venture to achieve a social change and capital. Hence, I hope this business plan will be a stepping stone into achieving that goal.
