Awareness and Concern towards Environment: An Explorative Study of Consumers in China

Abstract
This paper explores the awareness and concern for environmental protection among the consumers in China. Data was collected from 204 respondents using questionnaire survey covering on product usage and disposal. It is evident from this study that consumers in China are aware and concerned about the environmental conditions but the commitment level to take proactive actions is still moderate.
This study evaluates consumers’ perceptions on the importance of environment protection efforts.
It is earnestly hoped that the findings of this study will help producers and government to understand the consumers better so as to develop products that are more environmental friendly and for government to impose more effective ways to protect the environment.
