Abstract
Employees working in a banking business or finance industry in the Klang Valley Area are the focus of this study, which examines how working from home affects their motivation and productivity. Working from home has been shown to be a beneficial method of working in the past due to the widespread availability of newer technologies. While working from home, employees’ motivation and performance levels were impacted, and this study sought to examine this in greater detail. Semi-structured questionnaires were carried out as part of this study’s qualitative research technique.
Employees’ viewpoints and experiences were gathered using this method, and trends in their motivation and productivity levels while working from home were evaluated. It was possible for the researcher to record responses via the google form application. These responses then were transcribed and tagged so that the researcher could apply a thematic method to analyze them.
According to the findings, working from home boosts morale and productivity among employees. Even though opinions on whether employees perform better when they work from home differed, many said that removing the option to work from home would have a significant impact on their productivity. Working from home has a favorable impact on staff morale and productivity, which in turn improves employee well-being, work-life harmony, and job contentment.
This was evident in this study. Additionally, if employees are more engaged and deliver higher-quality work, this is likely to have a positive effect on the company’s ability to keep and grow its workforce.
