by Nora Mazuin Binti Amirullah

Abstract

The case study is based on key research and field interviews with CEO of the company, Rosli Adam. Secondary data from reliable internet sources was used in this study.

Bina Paint was a paint producer of waterproof paint, sports court paint, decorative paint and international paint brand as well as at 10 percent cheaper. The owner, Rosli Adam, had 15 years of experience in a specialist contractor in waterproofing, sports courts and water tanks. According to him, when faced with the economic downturn in 1997, he was particularly affected by the current economic situation as he used many waterproof and paint imported materials from outside the country.

From then on, Rosli Adam got the idea of opening his own factory by producing the products he imported from outside the country. At the same time, he saw greater potential if the waterproof product could be produced in his own country, thus saving CostS.

With a capital of RM150,000, Rosli Adam opened his first factory in Bandar Baru Bangi in the year 2000 that manufactured waterproof products. Its products were seen to be well – received and got many projects from local companies and government agencies.

Looking at the bigger chance of producing own paint, Rosli Adam expanded its production segment by producing paints.
