Library services are key and central to enhancing the student and researchers experience through its resources and facilities.

In addition to offering traditional library collections and services on lending services, The Library Portal is the gateway for users to accessing the information resources 

the library holds and subscribes to (Online database), Inter-Library loan services and more.

We offer a wide range of services to enable and support your use of the Library, ensuring the same learning experience for everyone.

Lending
Service

Librarians at the lending counter are available to assist users with transactions related to borrowing, returning and renewing of books. Library users are allowed to borrow library materials in accordance with the Library Loan Policy.

How to borrow an item

How to Borrow:

Please bring your valid library card (your student or staff card) to borrow items.

  • Search the library materials and get the call number and shelves number from the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC).
  • Search the materials from the shelves based on shelves number.
  • Take the book and your library card to the library counter/ services to check out.
  • Collect your transaction slip indicating the due date.

Notes:

  • A library user is not allowed to borrow books using another student/staff card.
  • Collect your transaction slip, the transaction slip indicates the due date.
  • A library user who has more than RM6.00 fine is not allowed to borrow any library materials.

Visitor and temporary staff are not eligible to borrow any library materials

My Account 

Visit the library OPAC, to :

  • Register ‘My Library Account’: fill up the online form and verify at the library/services counter
  • Check items you have borrowed
  • Check overdue items
  • Check outstanding fines
  • Renewals

    A loan can be renewed two times and renewals must be done at least two days before the due date. Please note that the new loan period begins from the day of renewal, not from the original due date.

    Renewals

    To renew Online, visit library OPAC and ‘My Library Account’

    Renewals will not be allowed if

    • Renewal has exceeded the maximum time allowed.
    • There is a block (due to unsettled fines and replacement costs) in your record, or
    • The item has been requested for a hold by someone else.
    Return

    Loaned items must be returned at the Library/services Counter. Please return your items on or before the due date or time as other users may want to use them.

    Overdue items & fines

    If you do not return or renew items before the due date, they will become overdue. The library charges fines on overdue items to encourage users to return items on time.  The Library will send you three (3) online notifications to your Unirazak email account or your registered email account informing you that an item is overdue.

    •  You are advised to check your Unirazak email account and My Account at OPAC website regularly.
    •   If your item is overdue because you were on medical leave, please present a medical certificate to qualify for an exemption.
    •   Fines must be paid at the Library counter.
    Lost and Damaged Item/Resources

    If you have lost or damaged a library item, please report it immediately at Library/services Counter.

    The user will make good a lost or damaged item with a replacement copy (the latest edition at the time of loss) at his/her own expense, or undertake to pay the current market price of the latest edition of the lost item including a RM50.00 processing fee and fines due till the day that the loss was reported. Lost items must be replaced or paid for within 2 weeks of the report.

    Library Blocks

    Users are blocked from borrowing:

    • If the outstanding fines are RM6.00 or more
    • When an item is reported lost or damaged.
    • User/student clearance

    Loan Service (ILL)

    About

    InterLibrary Loan (ILL) service is offered to assist library users in obtaining materials which are not available in the collection. ILL service allows you to borrow books, articles, book chapters from other libraries in Malaysia.

    Requests are restricted to materials required for teaching or research purposes The loan period for interlibrary loans is determined by the lending library and the material should be returned before the due date. Loans policies are dependent on the terms and conditions set by the lending libraries. A replacement fee (to be determined by the lending library) will be charged to the requesters for damage or loss books.

    How to make a request

    How to make a ILL request:

    • Email your request to libref@unirazak.edu.my with the title and  author of the materials
    • Once we receive your Interlibrary Loan item from the supplying library we will notify you via email or WhatsApp. It will then be available to collect from the library counter.
    • Journal articles and book chapters will be sent to you as an email attachment in pdf format, or as an email containing a download link.
    • Return the materials (books)before the due dates.

    The library provides training on how to use the library, online databases, Online Public Access Catalogue and etc. to students and lecturers. Groups and individual training are also available upon requests.
